LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A shooting at Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Black Friday left three people injured, according to authorities. The incident, which occurred on one of the year’s busiest shopping days, has been classified as an isolated event rather than an active shooter situation.
During a news conference, Little Rock Police Chief Heath Helton stated that officers responding to the scene found one person injured. Two additional victims later sought treatment at a nearby hospital. All three sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Mayor Frank Scott Jr. released a statement revealing that the shooting involved two individuals. However, no arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon.
The incident disrupted the shopping frenzy at the popular mall but did not escalate further, thanks to the quick response by law enforcement. Investigators are continuing to gather details about the events leading up to the shooting.
