Holiday travelers, take caution! A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for parts of California’s Central Valley, potentially impacting Thanksgiving plans.

The National Weather Service has announced that the central San Joaquin Valley will experience dense fog from 11 PM tonight through 11 AM on Thanksgiving Day. Similarly, the northern San Joaquin Valley will also be under a Dense Fog Advisory during the same timeframe.

Visibility in affected areas is expected to drop significantly, ranging from a quarter mile to as low as 200 feet. Such conditions can make driving hazardous.

Drivers encountering dense fog are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to ensure safety.

For those planning to travel across the Sierra Nevada, Highway 88 at Carson Pass is open with no restrictions. However, Highway 108 at Sonora Pass remains closed at Snow Park, and Highway 4 at Ebbetts Pass is closed at Lake Alpine. Highway 120 at Tioga Pass is closed for the season at Crane Flat.

Safety Reminder: If you’re driving in foggy conditions, remain vigilant and prioritize safety.
