The City of Sonora is gearing up to host its beloved 41st Annual Christmas Parade on Friday, November 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in downtown Sonora. Thousands of attendees are expected to line the streets for this festive event. To secure a good parking spot and viewing location, visitors are encouraged to arrive by 5:00 p.m.

Throughout the evening, Clarke Broadcasting’s radio hosts will provide live commentary from multiple locations, introducing the parade entries as they pass.

Free Transit Services for the Parade
For those wishing to avoid the hassle of parking, Tuolumne County Transit will offer complimentary shuttle services beginning at 3:00 p.m. Buses will depart from the Junction Shopping Center near TJ Maxx and drop off passengers at Lyons Street and Shepherd Street in downtown Sonora. Shuttles will run every 15-20 minutes for the duration of the event. Additional details are available by calling 209-532-0404.

Accessible Parking and Restrictions
ADA-compliant parking will be available at the Fountain Parking Lot (located at the South Washington and Church Street intersection) and on Level 2 of the Terzich Parking Structure at 95 North Green Street.

It’s important to note that public alcohol consumption and open containers are strictly prohibited during the parade. After the event concludes, the parade route will remain closed for approximately 20 minutes to allow pedestrians to disperse safely.

Motorists should anticipate increased traffic and are encouraged to avoid the parade area by using Shaws Flat Road to Jamestown Road as a bypass from Highway 49 to Highway 108. Large trucks will not be permitted to use the Stewart Street detour.
